This too shall pass

Sit down with Crystal for a casual chat about not being afraid of our experience, knowing that everything is temporary, and trusting that we can handle whatever comes our way.

Hi there! It’s Crystal, and today I wanted to share something that occurred to me during a recent flight. From my seat up in the sky, it was a beautiful, sunny day. Looking down, though, I could see that the scattered clouds were casting large shadows on the ground.

I realized that to anyone in those shaded areas, the day wouldn’t seem sunny at all. But I could also see that the clouds were moving, and so was the line on the ground that separated darkness from light. Before long, everyone currently beneath those clouds would be back in the sunshine.

In the video, I reflect on how this mirrors our experience of life. Even when things look dark or we feel stuck, our thoughts are constantly shifting and moving like clouds, and the light of our well-being is always there, ready to shine through when they pass.

I also share some of my favorite quotes and insights from recent podcast guests that have helped me see that everything is temporary and that we don’t need to be afraid of our experience—we can trust ourselves to handle anything that comes our way, moment by moment.
