Ep. 38: Why "it doesn't matter" (and what that really means)

Crystal and Samantha address a listener's response to our last episode and focus on how we can lighten the mental load of living with gastroparesis.

After our last episode, Samantha heard from a client who said that our conversation left her confused… and even kind of angry. When we discussed it “not mattering” to our experience whether gastroparesis went away, it felt rather blasé to her. Maybe a little dismissive.

So we dig into what we actually mean by that — and how it can lighten the mental weight that so many of us carry around living with gastroparesis. We talk about the white-knuckled grip we often have on needing gastroparesis to go away before we can feel okay. Why the question "how do I get there?" doesn’t have a step-by-step answer. And how building confidence that you can handle whatever shows up changes the experience, even when the condition itself stays the same.

If you also felt frustrated or confused by our last episode, this one’s for you.
